41-Marine life: The Galapagos Islands

15 actively volcanic islands that constitute a 'living laboratory' of mainly arine animals - sea lions, seals, iguanas, turtles, sharks [you can snorkel with them too] giant tortoises, penguins and more blue footed boobies than you can shake a stick at. A bleak and blasted landscape but the local inhabitants are totally unaffected by human presence and easy to approach and photograph. Strangely it was the unassuming Galapagos finches that triggered Darwin's Theory of Evolution.

40-Best Arts Festivals Calendar

These festivals can be expensive; accommodation and even tickets will need to be booked beforehand. Similar to European festivals (see below), but focusing on the most outstanding events worldwide. 37-Datai beach, Langkawi island

The beaches on this well-developed island are regarded as some of the world's most secluded and picture-perfect hideaways by many travel specialists. Unfortunately most of the best coves are private, occupied by luxury resorts. If you are independent, try Pantai Cenang, Pantai Tengah, or the beautiful crescent of Datai beach. Langkawi has also exquisite snorkelling sites, especially at Palau Payar Marine Park where Malaysia's best coral reefs are. The best season is Nov-May, when the sky is clear and the humidity is low, but rainfall here on the west coast is lower than in the eastRead more: "Malaysia Beaches - Best"

36-Packing savvy for a beach vacation,HAWAII

Like most people planning their Mexico vacations, I initially wanted to bring my most casual clothes. However, Dreams Tulum Resort and Spa has several wonderful a la carte restaurants with a “casual elegance” dress code for evening meals. Since this is just one example of a common packing quandary, here are a few of my favorite travel tips for packing light:

35-Mazatlan for your Mexico Vacation

Typical Mexico vacations are nothing to sneeze at.
A relaxing resort with palm trees and a swim-up bar can be heavenly. But maybe you want that…and more. Maybe you also want to stay someplace with charm and personality—a place that feels like Mexico instead of just another resort area. Plus, you also want to get a lot for your money and have loads of things to see and do. Where do you go?

34-New and Expanded Destinations!

We are very excited to announce our brand-new and expanded vacation packages to top destinations in the Caribbean and Europe.
What does this mean to you? Well, when traveling with NWA WorldVacations, you now have more options and choices of beaches and lush tropics throughout the Caribbean. There are also opportunities to experience more of the charming culture and pampering resorts of Costa Rica. There are also additional destinations in Europe which offer fascinating culture, history, and great sightseeing options! We have also added on new tours and new hotels in some of our most popular existing destinations.

33-Great Barrier Reef, Queensland, Australia

For a beach vacation, Costa Rica is hard to beat. Some of the world's best sands sit on its coastline where water remains a delicious temperature year-round. Don't miss Manuel Antonio's picture-perfect crescent of sand, with its azure waters and jungle at its back or, for surfing, Playa Dominical.

32-Seychelles

This Indian Ocean group of 100+ islands is home to some of the world's most beautiful beaches, including the popular white powder of Beau Vallon on Mahe and Anse Lazio on Praslin. The stunning pink sands and boulders of Anse Source d'Argent on La Digue lead many to call it the most gorgeous beach on earth.

31-Bahamas, Caribbean

Whatever you look for in a beach, the Bahamas has it. With sands that range from pink to white to sugary, waters that are blue or crystal clear, waves that cater to water sports or swimming and sunsets that are always romantic, the Bahamian shores are brilliant and unforgettable

30-Malindi, Kenya

Actually more white than silver, lovely Silver Sands Beach is just south of Malindi town, and home to several luxury hotels. Snorkeling, diving, surfing and deep sea fishing (for marlin, shark and sailfish) are popular here. Further south lies Watamu Beach, part of Kenya's Watamu Marine National Park

29-Byron Bay, New South Wales, Australia

Byron's legendary, lighthouse-dotted, white sand beaches are some of Australia's best. Situated where the Coral Sea meets the Tasman Sea, these clean, unpolluted, laid-back beaches remain relatively undeveloped and are great places to spot bottlenose dolphins, rays, whales and sea turtles.

28-Moorea, Society Islands, French Polynesia

The world's largest coral reef eco-system actually consists of 3000 separate reefs. Come face to face with the wonderful diversity of life that exists within it by snorkeling and scuba diving from pontoons or watch the parade of astounding creatures stream beneath your feet from a glass-bottomed boat.

27-Rio de Janeiro, State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Perhaps nowhere on earth is the beach so crucial to a big city's culture as in Rio, with its two most popular strips having even been immortalized in song. Of the two, Copacabana is bigger and livelier, Ipanema a bit more upscale and relaxed. For even greater Žlan, try Leblon just to their west.

26-Maldives

More than two dozens Indian Ocean atolls and thousands of islets comprise the Maldives. Idyllic beaches, such as South Ari Atoll on Nalaguraidhoo, the Sun Island, are a dream come true for sand lovers. Swim out to the barrier reef - or from some parts of the island, admire the reef right from the gorgeous white beach.

25-Koh Samui, Thailand

Koh Samui's myriad beaches present everything you could ever dream of in a tropical beach. Picture-perfect sands, coconut trees and palm fronds adorn each one, but there the similarities end. Choose from busy beaches, teeming with vendors and cafes, or secluded strips with not another person in sight.

24-Bursa, Turkey

Known as the Royal Springs, Bursa's renowned hot mineral waters have been popular since Byzantine and Roman times. Fed by magnesium, calcium and sulfur-rich thermal springs, the 700-year old baths were built in the time of Sultan Murat I. The beautifully ornate Yeni Kaplica bath dates back to 16th century.

23-Pamukkale, Turkey

Pristine white cliffs tower over this recently revitalized spa town with its Sacred Pool and calcium-rich mineral springs. The pool is set amid a gorgeous garden, and a teahouse is adjacent. Pamukkale is most pleasant once the crowds of summer have departed, but temperatures have not yet plummeted.

22-Cabo San Lucas, Los Cabos, Baja California, Mexico

Cabo's beaches are not just beautiful, they're also incredibly diverse. On the Pacific Ocean, the waves are delightful to watch, but often too dangerous for swimming. On the Sea of Cortez, the waters are sheltered and calm and the sand is white and warm.

21-Cancun, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico

Cancun calls with its stunning aqua-blue waters and white-sand beaches. Despite its reputation as a spring-break paradise, anyone will find plenty to do here, too. Explore ancient Mayan ruins, the Xel-Ha waterpark and the thrilling Interactive Aquarium, or just enjoy beautiful beaches.

20-Rotorua, North Island, New Zealand

A bevy of bubbling mineral springs and pools lure lovers of outdoor relaxation opportunities to Rotorua on New Zealand's North Island. Therapeutic hot mud pools, dramatic geysers and a buried village are within easy reach of the city. Many accommodations offer thermal swimming and plunge pools.

19-Iceland

Richer in geothermal activity than any other country, Iceland is a veritable hot spring hotspot. Around 800 hot springs, some with dramatically spouting geysers, pepper the landscape. The most famed is the stunning, steaming, turquoise Blue Lagoon in Grindavik, just beside capital Reykjavik.

18-Phuket, Thailand

Recently discovered as a spa haven, Phuket now offers a plethora of pamper palaces, such as tranquil Cheraim Spa Village, one of the continent's largest such complexes, and acclaimed Banyan Tree. Try modern treatments or Nuat Phaen Boran, Thai massage, which features stretching and deep tissue massage.

17-Tulum, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico

Traditional Maya spas have become yet another reason to visit ruin-rich Tulum. Today's spas offer Westernized takes on the mystical, spiritual Maya massage rituals. Acclaimed Yucatan health haven Maya Tulum offers the blissful combination of palapa rooms on a sandy spit and soothing holistic treatments.

16-Negril, Jamaica, Caribbean

Health and relaxation resorts confetti Jamaica's vacation playground, Negril, from secluded holistic havens to vast, popular mega-resorts. Book massage treatments and then sink blissfully into the jubilant pace of life of this idyllic, laid-back beach resort, famed for its glorious white sands.

15-Budapest, Hungary

Over 15 million gallons of water bubble into Budapest's 118 springs and boreholes daily. The city of spas offers an astounding array of baths, from the sparkling Gellert Baths to the vast 1913 neo-Baroque Szechenyi Spa to Rudas Spa, a dramatic 16th-century Turkish pool with original Ottoman architecture.

14-Costa Rica

Breathtaking mineral pools, magma-heated lagoons and toasty hot volcano-fed hot springs abound in Costa Rica. Perhaps the most famed is San Carlos hot springs, where shaman-led temazcal rituals include chanting and meditation at a traditional Mesoamerican sweat lodge and steaming waters await.

13-Hawaii, United States

As many types of spas as there are colors of volcanic sand abound in Hawaii. Choose from a flotilla of distinctively Hawaiian takes on traditional therapies, from seashell massage to volcanic ash facials and hot lava stone. If the energy of the dynamic waves doesn't renew you, test the waters of Watsu, a water-based shiatsu form.

12-Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

During the Great Migration, more than a million wildebeest and 200,000 zebras travel across these legendary East African savannas, an area the Masai call "the place where the land moves on forever." Game drives follow the search for sustenance, with most leaving from Arusha or Moshi.

11-Kruger National Park, South Africa

A game drive in search of the Big Five - lions, leopards, cape buffalo, elephants, and rhinos - is only the start in this South African safari mecca. Hit one of four adventure trails in a 4 X 4 for a self-guided tour through the park, take a ranger-led bush walk or soar in a hot-air balloon outside its boundaries.

10-Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya

Croc-filled rivers, acacia forests and grasslands cover this 200-square-mile reserve in southwestern Kenya, where jeep tours and hot air balloon safaris provide sweeping views. From July to October the wildlife-watching reaches a crescendo as 1.3 million wildebeest migrate into the park, predators in pursuit.

09-Morocco

The Saharan dune field of Erg Chebbi undulates along the southern Moroccan border, near the small Berber village of Merzouga. Four-wheel-drive and camel safaris traverse this desert region, bringing you front and center with fine red sands piled up to 820 feet high and star-saturated night skies.

08-North Norway, Norway

More than 200 miles north of the Arctic Circle waits this land of midnight sun, Northern Lights and spectacular skiing. The Lygen Alps offer a slew of snowy delights, from off-piste skiing and snowmobiling to dog sledding and reindeer trekking. Once snows melt, glacier walks, kayaking and hiking top the bill.

07-Midi-Pyrenees, France

Stretching from the wooded Dordogne to the towering peaks of the Pyrenees, this vast region is a popular winter sports destination, but one without the hordes that besiege the Alps. Spring's melted snows lure kayakers and rafting enthusiasts. In summer, amateur and advanced hikers take to the hills

06-Rhone-Alpes, France

The world's largest ski area straddles the French, Swiss and Italian borders. Renowned for skiing, hiking and rock climbing, the area boasts eight natural parks, including Mont Blanc and Gorges de L'Ardeche, and has hosted a hat-trick of Winter Olympics. When snows melts, lavender blooms and olives thrive.

05-Scottish Highlands, Scotland, United Kingdom

Hike or mountain bike past castles, lochs, Highland Cows and purple heather in the romantic Scottish Highlands. Experience the beauty of the country as you trot north on the West Highland Way from Glasgow to Fort William or explore the country's first national park, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs.

04-Provence, France

Cycling through Provence's rolling hills and charming villages, along twisting country roads and past 2000-year-old Roman aqueducts is by turns exhilarating and relaxing. Elsewhere in the region, a slew of activities awaits, from cliff climbing to skydiving to horseback riding or alpine skiing.
